County Council Survey Results—comparing 2009, 2011 and 2013

The county council conducted a similar survey to 2013's in 2011 and 2009. In 2011, there were 313 responses from the Rhuthun/Ruthin area. It is possible to compare the following themse across at least two sets of data.

In the years 2013, 2011 and 2009, Rhuthun had more respondents who were very satisfied with where they lived than elsewhere in Denbighshire. In 2009, this was 49%. In 2010, it was 54%. In 2013, it had fallen by 1% to 53%. In 2011, Rhuthun was joint first with the Dee Valley. In 2013, the Dee Valley had slumped from 54% very satisfied to 42%.

In 20111, only 8% of respondents in the Rhuthun area felt unsafe after dark. In 2013, by adding together those who felt very or fairly unsafe, the percentage of respondents had increased by 1% to 9%. In 2013, those in the Dee Valley who felt unsafe after dark was identical to Rhuthun at 8%. By 2013, the Dee Valley respondents who felt unsafe after drak had risen to 15%.

Respondents in 2011 were asked how an area had changed over period of time. For those responding in 2011, 26% of Rhuthun respondents felt that Rhuthun had gotten worse when compared to two years previously. This was average for the county. Only 6% felt that Rhuthun was better (average 8%).

In 2013, however, 20% of respondents (6% fewer than in 2011) in Rhuthun felt it had gotten worse compared to 2011 and 12 per cent that it had gotten better.

Also in 2013, 20% of Rhuthun's respondents felt dog fouling was a big issue.
