More than One Way to Skin a Foot

Not had a chance to post on this, till now. Opened on 21st May was Veena's handbag emporium, Clwyd Street, where till recently was the Capricorn charity shop. Welcome, Veena. Isn't "Veena" some sort of musical instrument from the India sub-continent? Whatever. Have you ventured in yet? It's chockablock full of bags and must surely rival city centre locations. A comment last night at a little after 10.30 p.m. affirmed what this blog has often said—we need quality in town and Veena's must surely add to this.

Fulfilling a different need, also open even more recently in Clwyd Street is a house clearance specialist & second hand shop in what was till recently an antique-type dealer, including period clothing. They're keeping the recycled name of "The Key Shop".

We can't actually see the connection with handbags but Veena's also stocks those funny flesh-eating fish that nibble away at the dead skin on your feet. It's a burgeoning business and it's now arrived in Rhuthun/Ruthin. If skin-sucking fish sounds a little too much like The Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy, it's actually a fish pedicure. Beats a knife, I guess, and possibly a luffa. And an ornamental bowl of goldfish.

And they say we're at the top of the food chain.
