Scores on Doors Revisited

Hygiene scores that rate food businesses from 0 to 5 now appear online for 33 local businesses, almost half as many again as when this went public, in February 2011. There’re still some businesses to go.

They can all be found by clicking on this link.

It's encouraging. No public sector organisation gets less than a 4. Most of them achieve the highest 5. It's pleasing that W & G Jones, newly rated and once the subject of great controversy here on this blog & in the Free Press, comes in at 3 (satisfactory), along with five other businesses.

24 of the 33 are scored the highest 4 or 5 rating. That makes the average score in Bro Rhuthun an encouraging 3.96967. There are still those who languish at 0, 1 and 2 and these relate to just three premises. 30 of 33 are at least "satisfactory", "good" or "very good".

The Wynnstay Arms (former Cross Foxes) was also scored as "satisfactory". We understand that its very recent closure is but a temporary expedient. The business has been for sale for some time. Wetherspoon's pending arrival can't be helping.
