Schools—Corrections

It seems I was unduly pessimistic about school attire when I posted a week ago under the slightly witty title of Cobblers. It seems you *can* by school shoes in Rhuthun—at Traed Bach, which stocks a range of ‘Buckle my Shoes’. My thanks to an anonymous commenter for the correction, who also pointed out that there’s a shop in Dinbych that can supply school shoe needs locally. I believe there’s a family shoe shop still in Yr Wyddgrug/Mold, also. As the commenter suggests, it’s not always necessary to drive to Caer/Chester or indeed Wrecsam or Llandudno.

And Trefor Jones, also Clwyd Street, stocks Ysgol Brynhyfryd uniforms, including school sports wears.

Another correction is that from this term onwards, Brynhyfryd’s sixth form will henceforward be required to wear ‘proper’ white shirts again, with jumpers and *ties*, rather than the polo shirts and sweatshirts now consigned to the lower forms. This departure may explain why Trefor Jones is selling two (now obsolete?) Brynhyfryd sweatshirts for the price of one. The VI Form jumpers come in at £26 each at Threads (not sure of the Trefor Jones price) but aside from the price, hurrah for a return to a proper school uniform!
