March, a Cruel Month

After a mild and dry February, today's overnight snowfall was a shock, proving that March can be a very cruel month. We  should be looking forward to spring. We've had wildflowers out if not in abundance then certainly more than usual. Should we say, more than normal, when this could be the new normal.

Yesterday's snow closed local schools. Peak traffic on the A494 was as low as Christmas week. Today, with much more snow, schools also remain shut.

Tonight's temperature in town is predicted as –5°. But that at Llandegla is reminiscent of 2010, at –7°C (feeling like –11°C).

Mid-morning and the sun emerged. By mid-afternoon, there was a certain spring-like warmth, in spite of the snow still evident in parts, on grass, gardens and hills.

The following shops etc were closed today:

Antiques Emporium, Amazing Dogs, Beauty Lounge, Beauty on the Square, Candy Shack, Cefi, Coffee Cabin, Creative Image, Cutting Corner, Gayla House, Harris Toys, Hearshop, HSBC, Isho, Kaffeehaus, Lewington, Lovongly Made, Naturally Ethical, NFU Mutual, Rachel's Eco Stop, Reebee's, St Kentigern's, The Salon, Seconds Café, Siop Nain, Small Plates, Tom Smith, Vale Carpets and Wayfarer.

HSBC: Online banking isn't disrupted by the weather...
