Pointers to New Resident at The Cloisters

Scaffolding to rear and a new fence...

As we prepare for a successor to Revd Canon Stuart Evans, The Cloisters is undergoing a refurbishment to welcome the Revd Luke Bristowe, his wife and his family of five children. He's due to be licensed to minister in a special service in Rhuthun/Ruthin on April 16th.

This will be the first time since the mid-1980s that The Cloisters welcomes a family. We understand that the bairns will attend Ysgol Borthyn (a Church in Wales-supported school).

... and internal works are among the changes to The Cloisters

The new priest will be titled 'warden of Rhuthun and pioneer priest', reflecting his role in the town and his more pioneering work within the wider Dyffryn Clwyd Church in Wales mission area. It's good that the ancient title of 'warden' continues.

He was one of two considered for the post and felt by the congregants involved to be the most 'traditional'.
