Doddie yn Dod i'r Dref

It was an absolute pleasure to see the Doddie World Cup participants this morning cycling along the A494 upon entry to Rhuthun/Ruthin on their way to their bacon buttie stop at the rugby club. To greet them was a good all-age turn out at the club, with the help of Clwb Seiclo Rhuthun and the local fire brigade.

The aim was to cycle from Murrayfield yng Nghaeredin to the Stadiwm Principality yng Nhaerdydd, to deliver the Doddie Weir Cup in time for the Wales v Scotland six nations match tomorrow and, in the process, raise money for motor neurone disease research. That's 500 miles in two days. An early start this morning amid nippy conditions saw the veteran rugby players enter Wales and stop over for a break at Rhuthun. Rhuthun was about half way in their epic road ride.
