Purple Patch

The conservatively & elegantly painted though empty Cerrig & the Green Lady shop has turned itself into an unusual shade of purple. Opinions are sharply divided about the premises' new look. It's a prominent location without having to blush.

But what's going on inside, behind the recently hung black drapes now covering the windows? The trinkets appearing in the windows and the advertisements for a new age concert may give an indication that it's likely to be an "alternative" sort of shop. If true, how comfortably this will sit in Rhuthun only time will tell.

I may be wrong, but the proprietress, the
half-sister-in-common-law of Elton John, might be the person who opened a shop in the late 1990s in the former Sandpiper (now part of Choo Choo), later moving to where Amber Bridal now is. The shop caused some controversy for the messages on the tee shirts in its windows. It sparked complaints and eventually a note in the window thanking all those people who'd protested for increasing the shop's business. And then it was gone.

Talking of colours, the Llanfwrog Co-op on Borthyn has recently gone greener, with the adoption of the limy Co-op brand colours.
