One sector of the town's economy that appears to be blooming is the sale of antiques, collectibles and associated stuff. With the opening towards the bottom of Clwyd Street last month of Y Shop, cleverly and interestingly recycling the fascia of the former The KeY Shop, it brings the number in town to five, six if you count dress agency Elysium. This has increased from just two in 2008. The current tally is:
- Cornerpost Antiques opened in November 2009
- Sweat Pea Collectibles opened in June this year
- Yesterday’s Collectibles also opened in June but the café element closed this autumn
- Steptoe’s yard has been going for some considerable years.
