Longstanding reader Invisus pointed out yesterday that there’s a rumour floating around that anyone who enters the fashion shop Montecito on St Peter’s Square and mentions this blog gets a free tea and scone. Is this a clever ploy to increase business, malicious chatter aimed at embarrassing the owner, or a genuine offer?

Would the proprietress be able to confirm or deny such a rumour?
