If you drove through Rhuthun today, you’ll have seen two gangs installing this year’s Christmas lights. London’s Oxford Street’s already been switched on (9 November!) but why ever would you want to shop there? Better and more appropriate that we wait a few days for Rhuthun’s lights to come alive. If you want lights, go to Blackpool. If you want shops, come to Rhuthun!P.S. we felt that last year, Rhuddlan’s Christmas lights were the best in the county – understated and appropriate to the size of the town.
