The price of petrol is on the march again. After a year of steadying and declining prices, there's a recent and nasty upward trend. In fact, prices are rising currently at every couple of days. Because petrol has been £1 per gallon cheaper than this time last year, no one's really complained. If the August trend continues, the petrol gap will shortly be 50p and thereafter motorists will again be in for a shock.
The graph shows the cheapest available cost of unleaded (green) and diesel (maroon) in Rhuthun/Ruthin but note that the most expensive cost as at 6 p.m. yesterday was higher still: Esso was in the lead, with petrol at £6.90 and diesel £7.08 per gallon, below.
