Some of our local politicians are exercised about the number of G Parry vans parked all around Rhuthun/Ruthin, especially on the Square. Well, sometimes you have to put up with something unpleasant in order to see longer-term benefits and this is the case at a number of locations. Would we rather have a decaying town or one that is improving, tidy and up-together? If the latter, we should expect builders' vans on occasion. Omelettes and eggs spring to mind.
Where I do have some sympathy with those who complain about G Parry's vehicles is the way that G Parry's drivers park them. The old adage 'Pavements are for Pedestrians' doesn't seen to hold true for G Parry. Perhaps it should be 'Pavements are for Parry'. Here are some examples, taken on just one day last week.
This van was parked on the Square adjacent to a step and railings, blocking access for anyone with a buggy, forcing them onto the carriageway.
And, finally, not on a footway: here, in this snatched smartphone photo, a Denbighshire traffic warden is issuing a G Parry van a parking ticket. The driver shortly came across but the Blog Photographer was unable to loiter to see whether the driver persuaded the warden to rescind the penalty.
