In a sense, we're paying the price of a mild October and November. Thursday evening and overnight we've seen heavy snow showers at low levels and this week has also seen the first frost of the season. This morning, the Clwydian Range is thick white.
The first snow at high altitude was overnight on December 8th. That's almost one month later than usual.
Spreading and ploughing crews thus far have enjoyed an easy winter but have been active this week. Viewed across a car park with only one parked car and there were few in town today. Last weekend and especially the one before were busy but a combination of the weather and the nearness of Christmas always seems to affect footfall.
