The conclusion of the December 8th Denbighshire county council scrutiny committee on the new September 2023 blanket 20 mph urban speed limit was that exceptions to 20 mph would be considered by each member area group or MAG. There is a MAG for Rhuthun/Ruthin and surrounding villages/communities and it's made up of county councillors from the area.
Yet, these MAGs are not held in the light of day. There are no published papers. There are no published minutes. There are no opportunities for the public to witness developments or debates.
As things stand, all of urban Rhuthun will from September have a 20 mph speed limit with the exception of the stretches in red, above: near Llanfwrog to the fingerpost on the B5104; and north of Glasdiir on the A525 to Aldi

It seems that more and more decisions are taken by MAGs. We're not sure how many such decisions, because effectively they meet in secret.
