It was announced on Monday that town centre Black Friday footfall was 0.5 per cent down on the previous Friday. Previous figures suggest a 17 per cent rise was expected. We don't know the comparable figures for Rhuthun/Ruthin but there weren't many at all on the streets.
Retail parks saw an increase of 11.4 per cent.
The drop in high street footfall on Black Friday was apparently for the first time in history. Just as well this hasn't a long history, then. It only took off eight years ago and was only introduced here (by Amazon) in the 2010s.
