From Barber to Beverages...

... via being empty.

There's no doubt town centres have changed. At least in theory we are visiting town centres more for leisure than for business or shopping. In any case, shops can barely compete with supermarkets.

So, it should be no surprise that yesterday we saw a new café open. Should we be concerned that there are now too many? Probably not, because there are still fewer than previously.

The latest is Kaffee Haus No. 9 and it's apparently run by the Boar's Head people. This may put some people off and not everyone will welcome the Boar's involvement but it does, of course, see a vacant unit now in use and that, more than anything else, must be welcomed. We're also not sure it's best to obscure one of your windows, even with such artwork, as people like to watch what's going on as they drink.
