Figures as reported in the Daily Post suggest that instances recently per 100,000 of covid-19 infections in Rhuthun/Ruthin have skyrocketed. Rhuthun currently sees a major spike in numbers. It has the highest number of cases in Denbighshire and other central areas such as Dinbych and Llandyrnog are not that far behind. At the moment, the coast fairs better. The Daily Post has stated the average seven day case rate in Rhuthun was 12. This translates into a number per 100,000, below. One area of concern is Rhuthun rugby club, where there are outbreaks now across all child teams (under 7s, 11s, 14, and 16s), suggesting that there is a cleanliness issue at the club. While infections remain high in local schools, transmission is actually believed to be from social, not scholastic contact. Half-term may therefore be an issue: children mix indoors this time of year, rather than outdoors.
We suspect that most infections are within the 10-19 age bracket, closely followed by adults of parental age.
Using Daily Post and PHW data, here is the trend this year (updated to November 3rd).
