Unmasked: Behaviour in the Schoolyard

The thread of posts of Facebook about whether or not children should wear masks while in lessons clearly seems to have missed the irony that some of the responses are themselves juvenile and worthy only of the school playground.

How it all started

Masks at school is something of a serious subject. I have no idea as to whether Ysgol Brynhyfryd insists on mandatory mask wearing—from how the topic was introduced, above, it would appear that they do. The vast majority were anti-Jacqueline Davies's view, though there were a few supporters. Interspersed with valid views, the ensuing debate nevertheless just got a little silly, immature and even infantile. How I remember exchanges such as this at primary school.

Since September 2020, at least 4,640 pupils and 310 have had to self isolate. For the schools where Rhuthun/Ruthin residents may be expected to attend, the number has been 1,183 and 156 respectively. These figures to March 15th, 2021. And these would've been much worse had schools remained open to all between December 11th, 2020 and March 12th, 2021.

And... the last words to sensible views from both sides of the divide... although the 'unproven concoction' could well be fake news...
