It's interesting that the contractors responsible for installing—and now removing—the active measures on Well Street (and Market Street) were faced with a number of residents who asked what they were doing. When people understood, they actually tended to express the view that taking the stuff out was a shame. It certainly seemed there was an upswing in support for the scheme. Well, it's too late now and we wonder where these people have been.

Yesterday, therefore, saw the beginning of the end for the Well Street and Market Street schemes. The only people who appear to have benefited are the contractors, G H Lewis & Sons. And, motorists seem to have gotten their way.

Meanwhile, till the evening closure, there was no resurfacing work during the day yesterday on the A494 Park Road, even though there was still a temporary surface over much of it, together with raised ironwork. This contractor, Jones Lighting, had nevertheless dug a nice big hole at the junction of Wernfechan and Rhos Street, though.
