Can't Please all the People

Almost universal praise for Tesco in its endeavours to improve their store car park. I say 'almost' because there's always one or two... don't you just love Facebook...

It's worth noting that Tesco has much improved profits for the first six months of the year... thanks to superstores coming back into fashion again. Profit is up 25 per cent. People are changing their habits and no longer shopping little and often. Rather, they're heading for a store where they can do a week's shop at once, hence the new march to supermarkets. And, between late March and late June, the supermarket was one of the only places where you could actually buy comparison (non-grocery) goods. You certainly couldn't in towns or retail parks, all of which were closed.

There are, however, two serious issues. One is the English-only white lining at the exit. This really chafes. The vehicular & pedestrian entrances off both welcome you in Welsh only. The signage around the car park is not only Welsh first but the Welsh's p;itch is bigger than the English. There's Welsh in the store (though it is in a minority). So, why not bilingual?

The other is the fact that in spite of the change, things are still tight, the markings non-standard and the arrangement at the exit flimsy and cheap-looking. The county council simply won't get away with this in its car parks yet Tesco can—and theirs is way busier.
