Brynhyfryd's back in business with close to 100 per cent expected attendance from Tuesday September 8th. Traffic was bad again but it was less busy than on its first days back, when at the time just 40 per cent returned. With a full complement, we await developments on the virus front and all that that implies.
Meanwhile, the Brynhyfryd 6th will no doubt welcome the return of Costa, the third to last café to reopen, as of today. There didn't appear to be any sort of roaring trade. Quite the reverse. Still closed are Chatwin's café side of things and Caffi Rh/Café R.
The desiccated and now thoroughly dead cactus neglected throughout lockdown has been put out of its misery and removed from Costa's window.
Finally, Chatwin's is not expected to reopen its café any time soon. They cite the requirement for more staff continually to santise their tables though if others can manage this, why not Chatwin's. It may be that there simply isn't sufficient footfall in town to justify the Chatwin café.
