It's taken almost three months to see the back of the unsightly skip perched on Well Street. It first appeared in mid-June. Full of carpet remnants and at one stage a batch of discarded used pizza boxes, it was a sorry sight. As shops reopened in June, it really did nothing for Rhuthun/Ruthin's image.
Yesterday, the skip had gone. Good riddance to it and long may it stay away
The skip was there for Corwen Carpets. Having moved out of warehouse premises first on Lôn Parcwr then on Rhos Street/Wernfechan, the firm has begun using the Picture House as its repository and, with it, have come countless heavy vehicles and vans strung over Well Street... and this skip.
Corwen Carpets' is now using three Well Street shops (not including the Picture House). Although disorganised and untidy, they are three units that aren't empty, so we need to applaud them for that. But what other business including the two other carpet firms on Well Street has a skip permanently outside its premises?
