School's Still Out

Back to school today. Except it isn't. Lockdown continues.

Brynhyfryd closed early, on March 24th for all learners but reopened for key workers' children on March 30th. There were no takers. Ysgolion Rhos Street, Borthyn a Phen Barras continued to March 27th and then opened for key workers' children only. There were too few primary learners, so what happened next was on April 6th, when Borthyn opened as a primary hub school. April 6th was the first Monday of the Easter school holidays. Indeed, Borthyn remained open for key workers' children over those school holidays.

Meanwhile, on Friday, these additional signs popped up at the child care provider on Lôn Parcwr to remind us all it was business as usual (sort of) for toddlers of key workers. Free provision was not just for school-aged children. By the time this photo was taken, yesterday, the balloons had deflated sadly faster than Joe's Eurovision hopes.
