Pleasant Valley Thursday?

In the nightly broadcast from the UK government, intermediary & stand-in Dominic Raab said something interesting. Referring to physical distancing, he thanked all those had "gone the extra mile during this challenging period". We understand the sentiment. But there was me thinking that we were expressly expected *not* to travel the extra mile. But there you go.

He also confirmed there would be no easing of the lock-down. Hear hear. But he was earlier caught off guard by the announcement here by Vaughan Gething that Wales would not lift any restrictions. Absolutely the right decision, ahead of a potentially warm Easter weekend.

A couple of Rhuthun/Ruthin businesses had promised to be back on April 14th. This has turned out to be just a little optimistic.

Busier today in the supermarkets. Some significant queues to get into B & M, the Co-op and Tesco. Perhaps that's because it's Maundy Thursday and people are stocking up ahead of the promised warm Easter weekend (the supermarkets'll also be closed on Easter Day). Expect more BBQs, then.

I am increasingly angry at the round shouldered young man who passes my house at least twice a day. He lives somewhere upstream of me. Twice now I've seen him spit onto the footway. Call me a curtain twitcher but his actions once disgusting are now plain dangerous. Ordinarily, I'd pass it off simply as loutish behaviour and make no mention of it but these days it takes on a new dimension.
