Belfield Battlefield

This from the Daily Post website today. Did the journos responsible realise that the ethereal inset of Ruthin School's former principal Toby Belfield effectively gave him a halo? Or was that by design, as in black comedy?

Belfield left on February 3rd. This should have drawn something of a line under proceedings at the now controversial Schola Ruthinensis. Instead, the crisis deepened as it emerged on February 5th that the council of management at the school had seen no fewer than three resignations out of seven.

Resigned members were Dr Glyn Hywel Roberts, Revd Stuart Evans, Warden of St Peter's and most recently retired circuit judge Ian Trigger (whose wife died suddenly on January 31st). Revd Stuart Evans is a member of the management council by dint of his position as Warden of Ruthin.

Revelations came in September 2019 about flirty messages, though the senior teacher with management responsibility was at that time unnamed.

Meanwhile, the school has at last altered its pages, to remove reference to Belfield. Compared the screenshot, above, to that taken on January 30th. The website tries to portray life as normal, with its news items such as February 3rd's "Frankenstein theatre trip".
