Agincourt up for Sale

It found its way onto the market yesterday. We're talking of the late Mike Hession's three-bed detached house on Denbigh Road, called Agincourt. It must surely be one of the most unique premises to be offered for sale. It's unlikely to appeal to everyone. Agent Cavendish Ikin called it 'A unique and very distinctive three bedroom detached house, a prominent feature for many years on Denbigh Road'. That's certainly one way of looking at it.

In its favour? Versatility: a study and a store room plus two-room outbuildings. So, on the face of it, it represents fairly good value for the asking price of £210,000.

There's always a 'but', though. And, in this case, it's the significant amount of wooden paneling within that'll need ripping out. It was fine for a medieval hobbiest but your average family will faint at the prospect of living with such 'heavy' décor. Plus, a moat in the front garden won't be to everyone's taste. There's a three bed detached house also for sale, this time at £200,000, this time at Llwyn Menlli. No outbuildings and no study... but no fanciful accoutrements or deep brown wood and heavy beams, either.

I wonder how much Hession invested in the transformation of his home.
