To the north of the Northern Link Road there's a parcel of land near the Mart which, over winter and spring, has been water-logged. With almost four weeks of dry and warm weather, the water's dried up leaving a decidedly horrid scum (above). That scum also stinks. Move along towards Glasdir housing estate and, if the wind's in the right direction, there's the obligatory pong from Clifford Jones. Further along still and the dry, warm weather has resulted in the sewerage works also emitting its own foul smell which, again subject to wind direction, is evident. So that's a summer miscellany of malodorousness in a little over 500 yards.
