What have the council's contractors done to our green spaces? Ringing (almost?) every verdant open space is a swathe of burnt grass, about a foot in width, poisoned by some herbicide whose effects on wildlife are probably unknown. True, the grass'll probably re-grow but that isn't the point: our greens are now spoilt for summer in a most unsightly manner.

Under the roadsign and along the rim of the roundabout

And not just at the fringes, dead grass is visible all around the base of roadsigns and other street furniture. The contractors have also burnt private open-plan lawns that run onto the rears of pavements.
