Still Impressive

Another 11 food premises join the current 36 that have been subjected to the food rating scheme. It's largely good news for Rhuthun/Ruthin, as the average jumps again, from 3.9, to 4.0, to 4.1 out of 5.

Fresh in the window of the Crown House is a sticker showing off the café’s newly acquired top rating of 5. Finn’s, Tanzaro’s, Ruthin Kebab & Burger, Siop Nain, the Manor House (sic) and meithrinfa The Mill join them. Miri Meithrin in Pwllglas joins its Llanfair DC counterpart with a 4.

On the other hand, a couple struggled in at just 2 ("Needs Improvement"). One was Ruthin School. It's interesting that the average score in the local authority school sector is an impressive 4.9. And, as mentioned in Comments on this site, the Morning Star scored 2, as well. That was a real surprise, given the way in which the owners have turned that tavern around into a nice, intimate, cosy venue where meals are actually very tasty and well presented.

And there are still a small number at zero and 1. To see all the results, go to ratings.food.gov.uk and type in LL15.
