The State of Estates

The recession is hitting house sales significantly. What more proof is there than the closure of two Rhuthun estate agents—on the same premises.

Molyneux’s has transferred its Rhuthun agency to its Yr Wyddgrug/Mold office, nine months after it spend significant sums transforming a St Peter’s Square outlet. Those premises were once long-standing K Hugh Dodd & Partners, who closed immediately before Molyneux moving in.

Molyneux never really made an impact in Rhuthun. The timing was all wrong, even if in the longer term, properties in Dyffryn Clwyd are more desirable than in any of its neighbouring areas.

It's website still reads "Molyneaux Estates are expanding their business... due to the opening of two new offices in Ruthin and Buckley earlier this (sic) year." And their advert in the Flintshire Chronicle still gives a Rhuthun phone number.

Now seems an opportune moment to remind ourselves that Key Properties, Clwyd Street, closed in September 2007, also after nine months of trading.
