Look at Our Prices

So says the sign outside Bridge Services. And they're right to crow about the price of fuel as, for the first time in years, petrol has either matched or has been close to local competition.

With fuel prices sliding, we've not felt inclined to report quite so regularly on the price of black gold in Rhuthun. The last time we did so was eight weeks ago, when we noted fuel was falling faster in Rhuthun than at its neighbours and Rhuthun's fuel was starting to become competitive. Since then, the cost of filling a petrol Ford Focus has fallen from £59.38 to £49.02.

Now, at under 90p per litre (£4.08 per gallon), unleaded's below March 2007 levels. Remember that unleaded reached a June 2008 high of £1.199 in Rhuthun (£1.329 for diesel).

Prices below are for 24th November 2008 and include this morning's 2p reduction at Bridge Services. 6th October 2008's prices are struck through. Expect many outlets above £0.899/litre unleaded to fall, soon. E&OE
