Taking Stock

A couple of changes to the stock of lock-up shops in the town to report. In two cases, literally to the stock.

Craft Centre Shop

The temporary Craft Centre art gallery shop has now closed, as expected, last month. Its lease is up. It has been showing and selling arty exhibits during the demolition and reconstruction of the Canolfan Crefft proper, by the so-called Briec roundabout. The shop will move to the new site when ready, understood to be mid-summer.

Tenovus

The Rhuthun & Denbigh branch of the national cancer charity Tenovus occupied the property almost opposite, for one week only to Saturday 14 June. This is the former Anrhegion, on the corner of Well Street and St Peter’s Square and, going back some years, it was once the old Co-op. The shop was last for one day for the sale of raffle tickets for Nadolig Rhuthun but otherwise has been unoccupied.

Leonardo's

Leonardo’s has recently partitioned off the small rear area of its shop. The panelling hides the shelving space formerly accessed by a small flight of steps. Not only has this (marginally) reduced the delicatessen’s floor space, there’s a small overall reduction in stock evident throughout the shop, as some of the shelves seem less full than they once were, with gaps. Leonardo's remains the food junkie's haven it's always been, though.

Rhuthun Wholefoods

Similarly, the health food shop Rhuthun Wholefoods, currently for sale at £160,000, appears to have a noticeably reduced stock level within.
