We were the first to report that Rhuthun town post office was in the ludicrous situation of losing its post box.Now, we can be the first to report that the situation’s remedied. Following planning consent, a new box is now installed on St Peter’s Square, opposite the post office and adjacent to the short stay car parking.
Till now, residents wishing to post packets have had no town centre location to do so, other than when the post office counter’s been open. There's been no Sunday collection.
Thankfully, the box is of an older fashioned type, in keeping with St Peter’s Square. Royal Mail's managed to repaint the front face but the rest could do with a lick, to cover chips and rust.
