Yesterday...
Last week, just in time for this week's Greenwich mean time, the disparity between our town town clocks was at last remedied. For about one month, the clock on the Peers Memorial was (usually very) wrong. This is not the first time that it has been out. At last, all is well with the world, then.
... and September 16th
But I doubt anyone will have noticed. After all, in the digital age when we wonder around town glued to our phone screens (narrowly avoiding our fellow pedestrians in the process) we neither have the time nor the need to look skyward at the clock faces. The town clocks remain part of our heritage but for chronology they really are anachronistic.
