Spot the Difference

When exactly did the public call box (PCB) outside the post office vanish? It's certainly not there now. This leaves the town without a PCB at all. The only other example was on Market Street but that was removed 10 years ago.

No one has noticed because no one used the call box any more. But not everyone has a mobile phone, so should we worry? Actually, probably not. Even 11-year-olds have mobile phones, these days. 

Even so, you'd think there was a process to go through such as a public consultation before such PCBs are removed. BT did consult before it took out village boxes, for example. That was 15 years ago. Life has moved on. 

Here's a map of PCBs as at today in central North Wales. There aren't many PCBs left at all and none in or near Rhuthun/Ruthin.
