Crowned Champion of Wales

Forget our empty streets, partly-closed-in-summer tourist attractions, a general shabbiness, cars everywhere and the infighting between groups... in the news this morning is the Sunday Times 2023 analysis of the best places to live in the UK. The newspaper votes Rhuthun/Ruthin as the best in Wales. It follows the 2022 analysis, in which Rhuthun was in the Welsh top seven.

So, we have some more good news to add to our £11m levelling up fund success.

Obviously, the judges didn't consider the paucity of restaurants. Or the lack of an NHS dentist that not even £11m will fix.

Last year's Sunday Times supplement was all about selling houses, of course, and now may be a good time to market yours, to take advantage of the crest of the wave of interest we hope will come our way.

This is how the Daily Post is reporting us, above. 'There are all kinds of interesting independent business, producing everything from ice cream to roads'. Roads? Civil engineers might construct them but they don't 'produce' them. 'Producing' them seems such a bizarre way of telling it.

We shall have to await the Sunday Times for the full story.
