Slump

Ruthin School has slumped from 5th to 81st in the A level league table for public schools, according to the Daily Post.

Schola Ruthinensis from across the road where the riffraff (aka rest of us) probably get a better education

In 2019, the last year pre-coronavirus of 'proper' sat A level exams, Schola Ruthinensis was 5th. This year, it's 81st with the number of pupils gaining A or A* grades falling from 82.7 per cent to 60.3 per cent. Although we have yet to hear how well or otherwise sixth formers at Ysgol Brynhyfryd did, it seems likely that you'll get a better deal in the state as opposed to the independent sector and save yourself £38,000 p.a. if your child is boarding. It was in the early 2000s that Brynhtfryd was well ahead of Schola Ruthinensis.

Mind you, most candidates at Ruthin School are from the far east and their parentsare probably not likely to be reading the Daily Post.
