Parched Landscape

How long has it been without rain? The last major rain was w/b May 30th (the week of Eisteddfod yr Urdd). The following week, it spotted with rain a little. W/b June 27th saw some showers.

And, of course, Monday July 11th and Tuesday July 12th saw temperatures locally at 36°C.

Yesterday afternoon's moderate rain will have made little difference but would be welcomed by gardeners and farmers. Meanwhile, grass whether on the Clwydian Range, lawns or verges is increasingly crisping. Any flowers on that grass, being deeper routed, stand out among the parched butternut landscape.

Update 25/8/22: They've declared a drought throughout Wales... except for the six Northern counties.

Update 27/8/22: In spite of Thursday 25th excluding the North, we do it seems have a drought after all. We're being warned about barbecues setting the ground alight
