An Unusual Winter

If you want any evidence of the mildness of the winter just ended, here's the salt heap at Lôn Parcwr taken yesterday. Usually at this time of year, there's nothing left of it. It was mild all they way across the winter and particularly so in November and March.

We don't know about you but our energy supplier put up our combined electricity and gas fuel bill from April by 129 per cent and we're not sure that'll cover everything. And that's with a season that was over a month shorter in terms of the use of central heating.

There was snow on only a few occasions on the Clwydians, as seen here. Nothing substantial, as you can see. It's hardly knee-deep. This was taken on a rare snow day but not in January or February, when we had negligible amounts but in April 2022.
