On and from November 22nd, Mount Street surgery moved from its current battered, neglected and crumbling building to its new location beside Ruthin Hospital. The old site was deemed not fit for purpose. The health board and county council between them facilitated this in a land swap. (The new Market Street surgery is on former county council land: part of the former Rhos Street school site.)
The hospital itself has enjoyed a £4m makeover though, interestingly, this was put at £3m in 2020 at the start of the project, to locate much of the health service in the area under one roof.
We anticipate the demolition of the old surgery, as the area terminates as housing.
