Closer to Home

Continued concern at covid-19 rates in North Wales have resulted in the town council cancelling the Rhuthun/Ruthin Future exhibition for today, Saturday and Sunday. We can expect a decision on Monday as to whether the exhibition will open for its second and final week. We hear that there is possibly covid-19 among either the town council staff or its officers.

This follows the sort of figures we published a fortnight ago on Monday, when it appeared that Rhuthun had more covid-19 cases per 100,000 than anywhere else in Denbighshire... and North Wales. Then, we weren't far from 1,500 per 100,000.

Both the Evening Leader and the related North Wales Pioneer websites then confirmed these data, adding that Rhuthun is the worst covid-19 blackspot in Wales. That's near enough 90 people.
