As a result of the virus outbreak at Ysgol Borthyn, the infection spread to the Rhuthun/Ruthin mail delivery office. This, no doubt, is the reason why postal deliveries have been so disrupted since the last week of November. There have been:
- Several days without post
- Later than normal deliveries
- Fewer vans early morning on the Square (on one occasion just four rather than the usual dozen or so)
- On one occasion the post person on foot when normally they're in a van
- Strange pick-up times and then
- Gluts of post as the office appears to be catching up. Ours were on Wednesday and Saturday last.
We're not blaming the Royal Mail. This was entirely out of their control. But what it says is... post as early for Christmas as you can, for you never know whether this is going to be replicated potentially anywhere across the nation.
The sharp-eyed among us will have noticed that from the end of last month we currently have two vans that are not coded with the usual 'RU' for Rhuthun/Ruthin but 'CV', both coincidentally seen here
