The Curious Case of the Courtyard Café

July 28th and the Ruthin Castle announces its new courtyard café will open on August 7th, with Friday, Saturday and Sunday operational times from 10a.m. to 6p.m. This is part of The Castle's comeback tour, with accommodation having opened on August 1st and indoor eating for non-residents permissible from August 3rd.

The implication is that the new café is to the side of the Castle...

August 7th and the Ruthin castle announces a delay to the opening of its new courtyard café, because the refurbishment is taking longer than anticipated. The new opening sate is set for August 14th.

... although further down the Castle's website, the café seems to relocate to the courtyard

August 14th and two people on Facebook ask when and whether the café is open but there is no response from The Castle. Meanwhile, there is no activity in the courtyard itself and not even any tables.

In fact, on Friday, the actual courtyard was vacant, as the shot above testifies.

Meanwhile, on Thursday August 13th, there were tables ready at the Castle's side in the location at the top of the Ruthin castle's website but not in the courtyard...

...while yesterday these had moved to the opposite face of the Castle. This shot was taken at lunch time but there were still no takers.

The $64,000 question, therefore, is: has the café opened and, if so, where?
