The starting threshold for land transaction tax ('stamp duty') increases on July 27th from £180,000 to £250,000. This is a tax reduction that will last until 31st March 2021. What will the impact be?

Let's take a look at the pre-reduction position (no stamp duty to £180,000) on houses for sale in Rhuthun/Ruthin:
  • Houses at £250k and over: 20 houses for sale in town. Three STC
  • £249K and under: 29 houses for sale and 23 STC.
