Pest Be Gone

One thing I definitely haven't missed during lockdown is the ripping, earsplitting sound of motor cyclists who come to play in North Wales. This year, with a significant number of fine weekends, you'd expect more bikers than a plague of greenfly on a raspberry bush but it's been quiet.

A rarity, seen on the hot Saturday May 30th

Either this specific community is more responsible than I ever thought possible or the police are doing a good job of turning them away. Whatever the reason, weekends are so much calmer without their roar and rumble. Not to mention that the roads are safer, too.

We in Cymru/Wales wish to welcome back visitors when safe to do so but I confess that I would be more than content if bikers never bothered. They offer dubious economic benefits while creating nothing but a nuisance in behaving antisocially.
