Spring Cut

Dear Neighbours

'Now the green blade riseth', please accept my apologies for the lack of grass cutting to the front lawn. We've run out of green bin space and this results in our having to take the difficult decision to suspend grass cutting during the coronavirus epidemic. So much is stopped or interrupted that one lawn won't make a difference. Rest assured that the rear grounds are mowed and manicured. This is so we can enjoy sitting out at the back. It's ironic that at just the point where we have time to spruce up the garden, we are all now going to struggle with disposing of the problematic clippings—and weeds and hedge trimmings.

We expect our front garden to start a trend.

Meanwhile, late last week, the council cut the verge and grass on the roundabout near the Mart. This could be its one and only cut for quite a while. Maintenance such as this is slowing down and scaling back, to divert resources to street cleansing and pothole repairs. We understand that resources are down 20 per cent already. I wonder where the council disposes of its own green waste (rhetorical question).
