Sing out for King's

Some good news to report today. King's is reopened. They have restricted hours, from 10.30 to 4.00 and not on Wednesdays. But King's had previously been closed altogether. Hardware stores are permitted under lockdown, even though Ruthin Décor has chosen to operate online only. You couldn't imagine King's operating via the web! But, hurrah for King's and the ability to get basic ironmongery accessories. In our case, we got a solution to the seasonally early invasion of ants.

King's has a table deliberately obstructing the entrance (which looks like a Workmate in the above shot), allows no one at all inside and they fetch your requirements directly to you. In a sense, this is no different to what life was like in the 1960s, when most items were stocked behind the counter and the assistant dart, flit and float around the store, shelves and stock room for you.

Payment at King's is contactless only and King's is very careful about maintaining distance when transferring stock to you.

The decision has resulted in some very positive feedback from the Rhuthun/Ruthin and district community. Good on you, King's.

Yesterday at 9p.m. and mountain rescue sent up its emergency rescue vehicles the summit of Moel Fammau and illuminated the Jubilee Tower with their beacons. This was a thank you to selfless NHS staff
