This morning's delivery contains something special: we buy two small bottles of hand sanitiser from Bargeinion B & M Bargains. There aren't many available. We've no idea of the efficacy of the gel within, but it makes us feel happier. Let's face it, this is B & M so we are not surprised if it turns out to have the reverse properties of using water as weedkiller. Or the destructiveness of an arthritic-handed strangler. Probably better, though, than using the President of Trumpton's suggested cure for covid-19, the ingestion of bleach and disinfectant¹.
Like many in these dim,dark times, Ocean Pearl offers a takeaway service. This was from March 20th. Ocean Pearl has made and distributed free meals to NHS staff at Ysbyty Wrecsam Maelor so, fair play to them for that. The sign in their window allows a discount for NHS staff but note that offer of 50 per cent off was seen by Ocean Pearl as perhaps a little *too* generous!
It's been almost a year since Denbighshire awarded the Ocean Pearl zero out of five for food hygiene. There doesn't appear to be any effort on their part to get this reversed. I say "reversed" because the owner had been displaying the ratings sticker upside down, giving the impression it had the top mark of five, according the report of a successful prosecution as reported in the Daily Post in January 2020.
Heard on the radio this morning was a request we liked which ended, "God bless Owen Money and the NHS". He may be a hwntw more famous down there but in reality he's almost as well known as Aneurin Bevan himself.
