Fuel Price Hike

There was a noticeable hike in fuel prices, yesterday, owing to the Middle East situation. For example, diesel increased 14p a gallon (3p per litre) and the cheapest gallon in Rhuthun/Ruthin now costs £5.99. There may be more bad news to come.

As significant as this increase appears to be, so far it really only returns the price of fuel that at approximately to October 2014. Meanwhile, over the decade from January 2009 to January 2020, fuel hit its peak in December 2012... during the current crisis, who knows whether it will reach that point.

Fuel prices usually result in a gloomy economic picture and since Rhuthun depends upon the ability to commute out and bring tourists in, this could be of concern. But it may also begin to drive the growth locally in electric vehicles. There are so few of them around here.
